VOLUNTEER

    SPOTLIGHT

WANTED  -  VOLUNTEERS!

Do you belong to a community group, scouting organization, church service group or school organization and are in need of a community project?  If so, we could use your help!  The Lighthouse Shelter has numerous projects that could use your help.  Some needs are as simple as collecting paper goods for our shelter, helping to hang clothes at the thrift store, or volunteering for a fund raiser.  Others are a little more complex, like building a fence or helping us replace or repair sidewalks.  These are just a few of our pending projects that we could use help with.  We will hope you will  think of the Lighthouse Shelter when you are considering community organizations in need of volunteer help.

If you are interested in making a BIG difference please call 660-886-9880 and ask for Debbie Wallace to discuss the different opportunities available. Debbie is also available to speak to your community group about the Lighthouse Shelter.  For availability please call us with your meeting date and time.

H.O.P.E  &  H.O.P.E. II

Helping Other People Everyday

The Lighthouse Shelter and Thrift Store are all about giving back to the community that supports our organization.  In effort to help those in need the Lighthouse developed the H.O.P.E. program.  This program is targeted to help those individuals and families that have had a catastrophe in their lives.  Families who have suffered losses due to fire or flood have been among those who have received help.

In response to a different kind of need the H.O.P.E. II program was developed.  This program is for individuals or families with limited resources. In exchange for volunteer hours at our Thrift Store credit can be earned for merchandise in our Thrift Store.  The volunteer hours can be performed by an individual or family.

Through these two programs we are able to help families with clothing, furniture, and household items at no charge.  To find out more please contact our Thrift Store at 831-0406 and ask to speak to the Manager.
