Chloe Blumhorst,

Age 5-1/2 became a live mannequin at the Lighthouse Thrift Store.  Using Grandma’s cell phone Chloe raised $100 in donations to win her release from the window.

THE SUMMER OF FUNdraising!

 

This has been the summer we put the FUN back in fundraising.  The Lighthouse Shelter kicked off the 8th annual MILE OF MONEY on July 2 with “Collection In Her Shoe” intersection collection at Odell & Yerby and Arrow & Miami Streets.  Employees and volunteers used women’s shoes and boots to collect donations from drivers. Of course the FUN did not stop there!

 

On July 14 we sold our now famous “Tornado Chips” at the Lighthouse Thrift Store anniversary celebration.  Then on July 27 community members donated their time to get into the window at the Thrift Store and become live mannequins!  Picking their outfits from the great clothes at the store our mannequins had friends, family, and passers by making donations to win their release! 

Then just as we were catching our breath, on August 4, The Lighthouse Shelter held “Lunch On The Square” at the Marshall town square.  Diners got to pick from a walking taco, chicken sandwich, or Tornado Chips, and a drink for just a $5 donation. 

 

We have been blessed with a generous and giving community which makes our fundraising efforts all the more FUN!  BUT WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP!  Mile of Money is only a few thousand dollars from the goal of $10,560.00.  Please use the donation form below and make a contribution to improve lives of women and children right here in your own community.
